Viseu de Sus, Romania

The 762mm gauge forestry railway at Viseu de Sus was build in 1932. Its 60k of track is all that remains of a vast network of Romanian forstry railways which at their peak in the 1980's totalled some 3000kms.With the support of the present owners, R.G Holz Company and from private individuals the railway is now being developed for tourism. Regular timber hauling is now done by diesel engines but several steam locomotives remain in service or are undergoing repairs for use on special trains.
